Infostrada SpA, Italy’s No. 2 Internet and fixed-line telephone service provider, has agreed to sell Web space to Radio e Reti, the nation’s biggest advertising agency for private radio stations.
Radio e Reti, with sales of 440 billion lire ($270 million), serves some of Italy’s most popular radio stations, such as Radio Dimensione Suono and Rete Italia, as well as an Italian satellite music television channel, according to Bloomberg News.
Italia OnLine, the Internet service provider that Infostrada acquired from Olivetti last year, and other data services are expected to become the main engine powering the company’s growth, bringing more than 50 percent of revenue in coming years as voice-call margins shrink, Bloomberg quoted Infostrada as saying.
