New York-based viral video agency Thinkmodo has released a video promoting the new Fantastic Four film, in which they create a pyrotechnic drone that flies around New York City.
Fantastic Four is set to open in the UK on August 6th, so PR companies have been hard at work creating innovative ways to promote the film.
The flaming drone is supposed to resemble Fantastic Four character Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch.
Thinkmodo’s latest stunt came with a huge safety warning. 10 firefighters were required to oversee the operation. Fortunately the stunt was a complete success.
In an interview with AdWeek, Michael Krivicka, co-founder of Thinkmodo, described the logistics involved with the promotional stunt.
‘‘We understood that it was risky, but we had complete faith in the team we worked with and the local firefighters at the facility who made it their priority to keep everyone and everything safe.’’
He added: ‘‘We selected the safest location, a fire training facility, which is designed for the purpose of burning and extinguishing things.’’
