Rare Medium Group Acquires ePrize

The venture investment arm of RareMedium Group Friday acquired a majority stake inePrize, an online sweepstakes, directmarketing and promotions firm.

The venture investment arm of Rare Medium Group Friday acquired a majority stake in ePrize, an online sweepstakes, direct marketing and promotions firm.

Terms of the purchase were not disclosed, but Rare Medium said it was adding ePrize to its stable of incubator companies, which include changemusic.com, iFace.com, Live Universe, and Regards.com.

The deal will enable Rare Medium to make ePrize its vehicle for providing permission-based marketing campaigns for corporate clients, and ePrize might also be deployed to promote other Rare Medium properties.

“ePrize is an excellent addition to our portfolio of incubator companies,” says Meyers. “It provides a platform for us to service the exploding arena of direct Internet marketing. We intend to expand the offering to include additional services supporting the acquisition and retention of online customer relationships.”

EPrize currently offers online sweepstakes, loyalty and incentive programs, customer attraction, targeted email dialog programs and market research.

Rare Medium, besides acting as venture investor and incubator, has divisions that provide Web development, business consulting, and branding strategies.
