Rare Medium in New York signed letters of intent to acquire Big Hand Inc. and FS3 Interactive, both based in Dallas. In addition, Big Hand’s subsidiary, CircumStance Design, will be acquired, giving Rare Medium an entry point into the San Francisco area.
Financial details were not disclosed. Big Hand and FS3 both provide Internet-based business solutions, including Web marketing, design, programming and e-commerce enabling. The acquisitions follow Rare Medium’s strategy to purchase only those businesses that augment the firm’s business, technology, or design skill sets or geographic reach.
Among the clients of Big Hand, CircumStance Design and FS3 Interactive are: Fox, Warner Brothers, Virgin, Neiman Marcus, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper and The Federal Reserve Bank.

Rare Medium recently completed two other acquisitions: I/O 360 Digital Design Inc. and DigitalFacades Inc. Clients have included companies such as Pfizer, The New York Times, Microsoft, Nabisco, Sharp, General Mills and Johnson & Johnson.
