SF Interactive and Mediasmith said the two firms have won a joint assignment to handle interactive advertising for VeriSign , a provider of digital certificate solutions.

SF Interactive and Mediasmith said the two firms have won a joint assignment to handle interactive advertising for VeriSign, a provider of digital certificate solutions.

The two firms, with expertise in interactive advertising and media placement, respectively, won the account after an extensive agency review. Billings were not disclosed.

“We wanted to select a creative agency that emphasized results and accountability and a media resource that could deliver great execution and actionable back-end information,” said Anil Pereira, director of corporate marketing at Mountain View, CA-based VeriSign. “The combination of SFI and Mediasmith will enable us to take our online advertising program to the next level.”

Bruce Carlisle, president of San Francisco-based SF Interactive said, “VeriSign is a classic direct marketer. The Internet just happens to work best for their product category. Their business needs fit exactly with our emphasis on creative online advertising that is driven foremost by results, rather than design or technology.”

Mediasmith, also in San Francisco, specializes in convergence category clients (interactive, technology, entertainment and media), executing Interactive and traditional media strategies. The two firms have developed a strategic partnership to provide complete interactive advertising solutions for clients.
