SuperPages.com, Partners Sweeten Deal For Small Advertisers

SuperPages.com signs partner deals that allow its advertisers to create andtarget banner and coupon campaigns.

Dallas-based Verizon Information Services’ SuperPages.com signed partner deals with two Internet ad companies that let Verizon’s national Yellow Pages sales force offer banner ads and online coupons to SuperPages.com advertisers.

Terms of the agreements with Andover, Mass.-based ad firm Engage and e-marketing infrastructure company Eversave were not disclosed.

The deals are aimed at allowing small- to medium-sized businesses with a Web presence on SuperPages.com to use the same advertising tools as their larger competitors — targeted banners and online coupons.

With LocalNet, Engage’s local channel sales initiative, SuperPages.com advertisers can target relevant consumers by distributing banner ads to subject-oriented Web sites, such as automotive and travel sites. In addition, the banners can be shown to consumers who are conducting Web searches within specific geographic areas.

With the online coupons, which are handled by Woburn, Mass.-based Eversave, local advertisers can enhance their SuperPages.com listings with coupon offers, which appear as a button next to the listing. SuperPages.com online coupons also will be distributed through Eversave’s network of partner Web sites and to Eversave’s two million registered opt-in users.

Verizon also is providing tools and templates that make it easy for smaller companies to design an online coupon or banner ad. Advertisers only need to provide customized text to their Yellow Pages sales representative, and select the subject matter category and the geographic area to target.

Clearly the partner deals make some sense; combining online Yellow Pages ad listings with targeted Web advertising and coupon offers would appear to be a good mix.

SuperPages.com, owned by Verizon Communications Inc., claims seven million visits a month.
