Burberry is the first brand to partner with Apple Music

Burberry has announced its partnership with Apple Music. The high-end retailer has started a channel on the music streaming service, which will feature performances, audio, and film from Burberry's work with British artists.

Burberry has announced its partnership with Apple Music. The high-end retailer has started a channel on the music streaming service, which will feature performances, audio, and film from Burberry’s work with British artists.

The chanell will launch with exclusive videos from emerging British artists, filmed at the Burberry Womenswear show during next week’s London Fashion Week. The performances will then be available to Apple Music subscribers who can comment on and share the content using Facebook, Twitter, email and Apple’s Messages tool.

“I am excited about our partnership with Apple on this amazing platform which will enable us to take what we do now with Burberry Acoustic and share it with an even bigger audience,” Christopher Bailey, Burberry’s chief executive and chief creative officer, told the New York Times.

How many people have subscribed to Apple Music?

Since Apple Music launched in June, the latecomer to the music streaming service has 11 million subscribers. Compared to Spotify, that’s nothing. The latter has 75 million active users and 20 million paying subscribers.

Apple Music users get a three-month free trial period, and at present it’s impossible to reveal whether those who are using a trail will sign up to stay on after it ends, paying the $10-a-month price.
