Culinary products e-tailer Tavolo placed a bet on broadband content’s power to drive sales, forging a deal on Monday with Yahoo that puts its content, products, and streaming video on the popular portal.
The deal, financial details of which were not announced, calls for Tavolo to launch an interactive network on Yahoo , which features and archives video cooking tips, techniques, and live events. Tavolo will also provide a selection of clips from the Culinary Institute of America’s “Great Chefs” series.
“We’re pleased to expand our relationship with Tavolo to include marketing, content and broadcast services components,” said Stan Woodward, vice president of business services, Yahoo Inc.
“Our Fusion Marketing approach is designed to leverage Yahoo’s broad platform of services that are customized to meet specific marketing objectives.”
Tavolo is providing daily recipes to Yahoo shopping, and is a featured store within the specialty food and kitchenware category. The company will also receive banner ads and fixed button placements in categories like Food and Beverages, Flowers, Gifts and Occasions, and Home and Garden.
