The Knot, WeddingChannel.com to Marry

Reaching those brides- and grooms-to-be might be about to get more convenient (and possibly more expensive)

The Knot and WeddingChannel.com have declared their intention to merge in a deal valued at about $78.5 million. The Knot Chairman and CEO David Liu says it expects to merger to help it “become a more effective mareting resource for our advertisers.”

PaidContent.org notes that the two have been engaged in a patent battle over gift registriesfor several years. Presumably, this deal puts an end to that litigation.
