While the 60+ sessions on the agenda are reason enough to attend SES New York 2013, some of the greatest tips you may take home from the conference come after hours – uring networking events with more than 100 speakers and your fellow attendees.
As always, SES New York, taking place March 25 to 28 at the Marriott Marquis, will offer several opportunities for you to make new contacts and expand your knowledge. Here’s your guide to networking at SES New York.
Meet the Experts
Experiencing a problem? Take it to the experts! SES offers ample access to its speakers, including question-and-answer opportunities during and after sessions.
But sometimes there just isn’t enough time during or after a session you attend to get your question answered, or perhaps you don’t want to share your issue with a room full of strangers.
In these informal roundtable discussions, two SES speakers are ready and willing to share their knowledge and expertise with you. Simply find a table dedicated to the topic you most want to learn about or have a question about, take a seat, and start chatting with the experts.
Here are the 26 topics that will have their own dedicated table:
- Link Building
- Penguin & Panda
- SEO Content Marketing
- SEO Tools & Technology
- Keyword Analysis
- Enterprise SEO
- Site Migration
- Competitive Analysis
- SEO Metrics
- PPC for Ecommerce
- Generating Leads from PPC and SEO
- Ad Optimization
- Optimizing Landing Pages
- Mobile Marketing
- Local and Social
- Social Media Optimization
- Content Driven Engagement
- Big Data and Marketing
- Social Media Metrics
- Convergence Analytics & Segmentation
- List Segmentation: Building Personas
- International SEM
- Future of SEM
- Optimizing Conversion
- Video Optimization
Have questions on multiple topics? You can visit as many tables as you want during these two hour-long sessions.
But enough about the sessions. Some of the best tips and connections you’ll make will happen after hours and over cocktails.
SES Newcomers Meetup
If this is your first SES event, then make sure to check out the SES Newcomers Meetup at the Marriott Marquis Monday, March 25, from 5:15 to 5:45 p.m. Members of the SES content team will introduce you to SES, including tips and tricks to make the most of your week.
In addition to sharing some of this year’s session highlights, you’ll get an exclusive run down of all the networking and educational events you won’t want to miss out on during the week. It’s also a bonus networking opportunity, as this occurs before the SES Meet and Greet.
SES Meet and Greet
Unless you attended the Newcomers Meetup, this will be your first of many networking opportunities and should be on your SES must-do list.
You can chat with many of the speakers, exhibitors, and fellow attendees who will be in attendance at BB King Blues Club (located at 237 W 42 St, between 7th and 8th Ave).
For those who’ve attended an SES conference before, the Meet and Greet is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and make some new connections.
Networking Cocktail Reception
What better way to start winding down your first full day of SES New York than with a free drink.
Head over to the Expo Hall from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for the Networking Cocktail Reception. Cash in your free drink ticket and mingle with your fellow attendees.
You need to experience the epic event that is Search Bash. Mere words cannot do this networking event justice. This event will give you the chance to let loose and hang out with all your new friends and hopefully make some more.
Definitely make sure to take the trip Tuesday night to Hudson Terrace, located at 621 W. 46th St. You will need to register for this event (details coming soon). The event starts at 9 p.m., and if history holds true to form, will end very, very late.
Vivastream: The Official Social Platform of SES
Another way to start networking right now is by joining us on Vivastream and downloading the app. Say hello, share your thoughts, send messages, ask a question, and start making connections via Twitter and LinkedIn.
