New York City-based community site operation theglobe.com signed on as the exclusive Internet sponsor of the Fourth Annual Red Bull Xtreme Snowboarding Competition in the Swiss Alps through March 21.
As the exclusive Internet sponsor, theglobe.com and its creative logo will be prominently placed alongside the famous Swoosh from Nike ACG, in front of the Verbier village resort area–the main vantage point for spectators to view the breathtaking snowboarding competition. Spending was not disclosed.
“The Red Bull Xtreme Snowboarding offers us the opportunity to maximize our presence in Europe at an event that caters to a coveted demographic for advertisers, ” said Stephan Paternot, co-CEO of theglobe.com.
“By positioning our brand with the international audience that attends these high profile events, we are strategically marketing to the next wave of new users who will recognize theglobe.com brand as the first on the Web.”
Approximately 40 percent of theglobe.com users hail from countries outside of the United States such as Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, Canada, Norway, Sweden, Brazil and Italy.
