Top 50 U.S. Web Properties, January 2008

Yahoo, Google, Microsoft remain in top three spots with little movement from previous month.

Yahoo ranks as the most visited Internet property based on unique visitors for January 2008, according to data collected by comScore.

Google ranks second with over 134 million U.S.-based visitors. Microsoft ranks third with 119 million uniques. AOL received 109 million unique visitors; comScore separated the portal’s visitors from Time Warner’s after the company divided its properties on its earnings call, Time Warner ranks in ninth position with 52 million unique visitors.

The rankings for Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft remain unchanged from December.

Upward movement was seen from Disney Online, which moved from a rank of 25 in December to 21 in January. Expedia.com moved up from a rank of 41 in December to 32 in January. CareerBuilder.com, which was not in the top 50 properties ranked by comScore, ranked at 27 in the New Year.

ComScore data are based on an opt-in global panel of over two million consumers. The panel is observed for browsing and transactional behavior and participates in survey research to capture attitudes.
