Despite continued intense usage of news and health information sites, Internet users are also beginning to use the Web to plan for the holidays, according to comScore Networks.

Unique Internet visitors at both the U.S. and worldwide levels posted slight declines of just over 1 percent. Key sites showing declines in worldwide traffic included CNN.com (-27 percent), MSNBC.com (-45 percent), Time.com (-21 percent) and NYTimes.com (-23 percent). Of these, only MSNBC fell below its August level.
