Game site operator Total Entertainment Network named Phase Two Strategies of San Francisco and New York as its public relations agency of record and Butler, Shine & Stern of Sausalito, CA as its AOR for advertising.
Both agencies will work closely with TEN’s internal marketing and sales groups, TEN said. Billings were not disclosed.
“These two leading agencies are renowned for their work in building brand relationships with consumers and the business community,” said Lesley Mansford, vice president of marketing for TEN. “Their immediate task will be to raise brand awareness and drive consumer traffic to TEN’s games on our partner sites.”
Since launching its “Family Games” service one year ago, TEN has amassed 3 million registered users by making its games available through a distribution network that includes Excite, Netscape, GO and Sony Station, among others. Founded in 1988, Phase Two Strategies clients include American Century Investments, Logitech, Greenfield Online, Baan USA, TIBCO and Polycom. Founded in 1993, Butler, Shine & Stern focuses on creating, developing and rejuvenating brands. Clients include 989 Studios (the leading developer of Playstation software), Egreetings, Jamba Juice, Millers Outpost, R.A.B. Motors, Seagram Wines and E-Stamp.
