Financial terms of the three-year deal weren’t disclosed.

The flurry of stadium building in professional sports, combined with the big marketing dollars of the Internet economy, has resulted in a number of big technology company sponsorships. The Giants’ old ballpark, formerly known as Candlestick Park, is now officially 3Com Park, the Baltimore Ravens play in PSINet Stadium, and Monster.com is reportedly considering sponsorship of the NFL Patriots’ new stadium.

Besides getting in front of the eyeballs of attendees of sporting events, these sponsors bank on getting significant television exposure, as well.

The Webvan (WBVN) deal isn’t as big as a stadium sponsorship, but it will put a painted image of one of the company’s vans on the brick wall in right centerfield. The Webvan courier depicted driving the van has his arm outstretched and he’s wearing a baseball mitt.

Webvan advertising and brand logos will also appear on homeplate and club-level rotating signs, back-lighted concourse signs, directional signs, and on beverage cup holders located throughout the ballpark.

Webvan has also agreed to sponsor a minimum of five in-stadium promotions during each regular season.
