Direct marketing e-commerce company XOOM.com Inc. and InfoSpace.com established a strategic alliance under which InfoSpace.com will be the exclusive provider of online white pages, yellow pages and classifieds for XOOM.com’s 5.6 million members.
In addition, InfoSpace.com users will be offered membership in the XOOM.com’s Buyers Club. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.
XOOM.com said it will significantly expand the free offerings available to visitors and members of its Web site by co-branding versions of InfoSpace.com’s white pages, yellow pages and classifieds. And InfoSpace.com can offer its users the opportunity to purchase products at discounted prices through the XOOM.com Buyers Club.
“InfoSpace.com’s directories and classifieds have become an extremely powerful and popular resource that fits very well into XOOM.com’s free Web site offerings,” said Laurent Massa, president and CEO of XOOM.com.
