Execs & Accounts: Tim Hanlon, JiWire, Mixpo
Tim Hanlon is leaving Publicis at the end of the month. Hanlon is an EVP at Publicis and head of VivaKi's Ventures practice. He has taken the lead in several of the holding company's experimental digital initiatives. Said a company rep, "There are no plans to replace Tim, but over the years the Groupe has added other executives to manage its various ventures initiatives, so we currently have a strong team in place."
JiWire, provider of an ad platform for public wi-fi networks, hired David Courtney as CEO. Courtney held senior positions with Adify, a vertical ad network platform, and TiVo. Earlier he was a managing director at J.P. Morgan, leading the high tech group.
Mixpo hired Adam Kapel as SVP of sales and marketing. He joins the online video ad firm from Microsoft, where he was a senior director with responsibility for promoting the company's ad products.
FreeWheel hired JoAnna Abel as head of marketing. Abel joins from Microsoft's Advertiser & Publisher Solutions group. Formerly a director in the Global Direct Marketing group at Yahoo, she'll be based in San Francisco.
Siegel+Gale undertook a brand relaunch for Phoenix House The client is a nonprofit drug and alcohol treatment organization. The new identity debuted on the Phoenix House Web site.
