Unicast, the rich media and video ad firm, is launching an office in Hamburg, Germany, to further support its business in Europe. Richard Kidd has been appointed managing director of Unicast EMEA, and will oversee the European business from both the London and Hamburg Offices. Existing European clients include MySpace, MSN, Paramount, Warner Brothers and Last.fm.
WPP has appointed ex-Microsoft sales director Jakob Nielson managing director of its digital arm, GroupM Interaction. Nielsen will oversee interactive activities for agencies such as Mediacom, Mindshare, and Mediaedge:cia, and report to Nick Theakstone, GroupM’s chief executive for the UK. He replaces David Kyffin, who was appointed chief global ROI and direct marketing officer at MediaCom Worldwide in November.
ITV has switched the role of former brand partnership director Gary Knight to include supervision off all interactive sales, as well as sponsorship and content partnerships for the broadcaster. Knight will assume the responsibilities of Gary Cole, the firm’s former head of online revenue, who left as part of its cost-cutting initiatives.
