Execs & Accounts for October 3, 2007

Technorati names a new CEO, the Huffington Post gets a new CEO, and Ad Infuse adds Greg Stuart to its board.

The Huffington Post named Betsy Morgan chief executive officer. Co-founders Arianna Huffington will remain editor-in-chief of the publication and Kenneth Lerer will hold the newly-created position of chairman of the board. Morgan’s previous post was SVP at CBS Interactive and GM of CBSNews.com.

Richard Jalichandra joined Technorati as president and CEO. Jalichandra’s experience includes posts at Exponential Interactive, Fox Interactive Media and IGN Entertainment. He was most recently entrepreneur-in-residence at Battery Ventures. Founder David Sifry stepped down as CEOin August and will continue with Technorati as chairman of the board.

The Wall Street Journal recruited Chris Collins to be VP of multimedia sales. Collins was previously VP of multimedia sales at ESPN for its TV, magazine and online properties.

Ad Infuse appointed Greg Stuart, Liz Ross, and Brendan Benzing to its advisory board. Stuart is co-author of “What Sticks” and former CEO of the IAB. Ross is president of Tribal DDB West, and Benzing is VP of mobile search and marketing at Infospace.

Epsilon named five new senior executives to its Strategic Database Solutions Group. Farrell Hudzik was named senior director of business development in the financial services group. Hudzik was previously sales directory for Quaero. Sean Welsh was named VP of financial services, Rick Shepherd as VP of strategic accounts, Donnie Gates as VP of strategic accounts and Tom Edwards is VP of investment services at Epsilon, and all four were previously with Acxiom.

Metacafe named David Rice president of product. Rice was previously VP of products at Yahoo International.

Interpublic Emerging Media Lab appointed Scott Wensman director of media strategy and content. Wensman will be based in the agency’s Los Angeles office.

MediaSpan’s Network business unit will provide ad representation and sales services to PrepCountry. PrepCountry is a group of 50 local high school sports Web sites under the SportsIQ brand.
