Active Home Internet Users by Country, May 2008

Switzerland experienced a dip in the number of active home Internet users in the month of May, according to data from Nielsen Online.

Elsewhere, the number of Internet users increased. Australia, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, the U.K., and the U.S. all experienced an increase in the number of active Internet users. The growth marked a reversal of April numbers, when all countries tracked, save the United Kingdom, experienced a dip in the number of active Internet users.

Nielsen Online uses a sampling methodology applied worldwide, which allows for data aggregation on a regional and global basis. Active Internet users are derived from the number of users who have logged on in the previous 30 days.
