Colin Kinsella has been with Razorfish since 2004, most recently as chief innovation officer.
Just six months after being named Razorfish’s first chief innovation officer, Colin Kinsella is moving to Digitas North America as president.
Kinsella takes over the position vacated by Digitas CEO Laura Lang last year. It has remained unfilled until now.
“Colin has helped make Razorfish one of the leading digital agencies in the world,” said Lang in a written statement. “I am confident he will bring the same level of commitment and innovation to Digitas, helping to expand our client partnerships.”
Kinsella, who is based in San Francisco, has been with Razorfish since 2004. Prior to taking the CIO position, he was president of its Western region.
It is not clear when — or if — Razorfish will hire a CIO to replace him.
The move comes as Publicis, which recently bought Razorfish from Microsoft for $530 million, is looking to more closely integrate the two firms. Both shops operate under the Vivaki umbrella, a group that also includes Starcom MediaVest Group, Denuo, and ZenithOptimedia.
Digitas has also added to the responsibilities of Tony Weisman, president of Digitas Chicago. He will now take on the role of global client leader as well, partnering with Lang to better allocates the firm’s resources for its global clients.
