24/7 Media Inc.in New York City named former Bell Atlantic executive Ron Johnson as chief information officer and senior vice president.
The CIO job is a new position created to support the company’s growth through expansion of its technology infrastructure. The title, chief information officer, also reflects its efforts to effectively integrate information management with technology management, the company said.
Reporting directly to CEO David J. Moore, Johnson will be responsible for driving 24/7 Media’s technology and ad serving application development, as well as its network operations. He will oversee continuing development of the company’s Adfinity ad serving solution, as well as production implementation of its recently announced Profilz co-op database.
Johnson, who will be based in 24/7 Media’s Virginia office, comes to the company from Bell Atlantic, where he was responsible for spearheading development and network integration of systems for the company’s start-up cellular, video, Internet and electronic commerce subsidiaries. He most recently served as vice president of systems development for Bell Atlantic’s ISP business as well as Big Yellow, the company’s online yellow pages.
24/7 Media operates the 24/7 Network of more than 100 high profile Web sites, the CLIQNOW! network comprising more than 85 medium to large Web sites anchored by flagship sites and ContentZone, a network of over 2,500 small to medium sites.
