A study by Taloustutkimus Oy has found there are 1.43 million adults accessing the Internet in Finland, accounting for 37 percent of the adult population, and almost 28 percent of the country’s total population. According to this number, Finland has the highest rate of Internet penetration in the world.
The Computer Industry Almanac gives a similar answer. It says there were 1.57 million Fins online at the end of 1998.
