Christian Harris, Deezer’s UK MD will share his perspectives on what’s next for the business and what the future of music will look like.
Boiler Room
With live streaming becoming an increasingly important part of the digital music space, Boiler Room has become a global trendsetter in bringing the very best of underground music to the world. Counting more than 1.5m active subscribers, the London startup is at the cutting edge of the future of music. CCO Mazdak Sanii will talk us through the company’s future plans to democratise underground music.
7Digital
With more than a decade’s experience in the sector, 7Digital powers scalable music and radio services for global brands, mobile carriers, retailers, record labels, artists and more. The company fosters growth and innovation in the industry by simplifying the access to music for clients, with experience in radio production, music curation services, editorial strategy and content management. As YouTube becomes an increasingly important platform for music distribution, PopShack provides a multichannel network that helps musicians monetise their fan bases. CEO Conrad Withey will talk about the role of brand partnerships in the music industry of the future.
Chew
With live streaming becoming an increasingly important part of the digital music landscape Chew aims to allow any DJ, be they world-renowned or a bedroom genius, to broadcast video and audio live streams and archive their past performances. Co-Founder Ben Bowler will talk through how the company is building a community of DJs around live streaming.
Choosic
Helping people find music the same way they find love, Choosic utilises a Tinder-style swipe-based interface to let users discover new tunes from more than 600 tastemakers. Founder Chris Underdown will explain how the company plans to leverage the app’s social data to provide a powerful A&R tool.
Tigmus
Aiming to remove the middle-man from gigs and ticket booking, Tigmus (This Is Good Music) operates a crowdfunding-based platform where artists create an event and fans pledge to buy tickets. Oli Steadman, who along with co-founder Tom Hodgson, make up half of indie-folk band Stornoway, will discuss forging a better deal for artists and fans.
