It’s official: Zuckerberg Media chief executive Randi Zuckerberg will keynote ClickZ Live on April 1 in New York, for the inaugural edition of the conference formerly known as SES New York.
As you may have already seen on the agenda, Zuckerberg will speak on “10 New Media Trends Shaping the Lives of Modern Consumers.”
Hello ClickZ Live
Zuckerberg’s topic, as you would expect, is exactly on target with the philosophy of renaming and merging the former SES into ClickZ Live.
“As an early executive at Facebook, Zuckerberg is part of the pioneering new generation in digital marketing, which makes her a perfect fit for the new ClickZ Live conference,” says Laura Roth, head of Content for ClickZ Live.
Zuckerberg’s keynote will delve into the new media trends that are influencing the lives of contemporary consumers. As an early Facebook executive, the founder of a media brand and editor-in-chief of Dot Complicated, Zuckerberg is the perfect choice to speak on trends both in every day modern media, and technology. She has witnessed first hand the power of digital and will provide insights for businesses to “engage, convert and delight loyal consumers.”
So What Exactly is ClickZ Live?
If you’ve previously attended SES, what you will notice is that ClickZ Live has consolidated a lot of its current sessions, along with the range of topics found online at ClickZ.com. This will include areas such as social media, display, mobile, email, video, digital TV advertising, and more.
Event streams at ClickZ Live are designed to match your expectations in terms of content, format and ROI, whether your business is an agency, a big brand, or an SMB.
In a recent interview, ClickZ Live publisher, Mike Grehan said: “Over the past few years SES Conference & Expo has gradually been broadening out the content we present to digital marketers. It now pretty much reflects the content we publish online at ClickZ for the entire digital marketing industry. So it’s basically less of a rebrand and more of a merging and consolidation of two premium brands to better serve our audience both online and in person.”
What to Expect in Sessions
Sessions are spread out into five tracks, to help everyone navigate the content in a way that makes sense for their business:

The formats remain the same, including the interactive “Meet the Experts” sessions, site clinics and theater presentations in the exhibition area. Yes, there will be an exhibition area, as usual, giving marketers access to the tools developers, service providers and more. The networking opportunities you may have grown accustomed to at SES are there to stay, as well. Casino Night, which has been wildly successful in San Francisco and Chicago, will make its New York debut in April.
In a nutshell, Roth notes, “it’s all about the take aways. No matter what your company size is or whether you cater to businesses or consumers, we designed ClickZ Live around the idea of bringing “how-tos” versus “whats.”
ClickZ Live’s mission is to have attendees and participants all leave with new learnings and actionable tactics they can implement the following day, says Roth.
Among the sessions that might be of particular use for brands- small or large, according to Roth – could be the one on how to select the right agency, just as an example. “This promises to bring a few much needed answers for all companies out there,” she comments.
To sum it up, ClickZ Live is like a pie. SES was a delicious slice you came back for every year, while the new format of ClickZ Live is comparable to the whole pie (or cake, depending on your tastes), available for you. Why take just a slice when you can have the full pie/cake?
And don’t worry, you won’t be lost. Mike Grehan will be there, as usual, to make you feel at home. His ominous intros, as you’ve seen them, will still be present – like it or not!
