Execs & Accounts: Starcom USA, Rokkan, Big Spaceship, Say Media

New agency hires at Starcom, Rokkan, and Big Spaceship; CBS VP moves to Say Media.

Starcom USA has appointed Mark Pavia to lead its digital operations. Pavia will assume the role of executive vice president/digital managing director, and will be responsible for driving the agency’s digital strategy and direction from its Chicago office. He joins from a previous role as SVP/director of innovation at The Martin Agency in Virginia.

Rokkan Names Sav Banerjee Executive Strategy Director. Banerjee will oversee the full-service interactive agency’s strategy team in developing and executing integrated digital strategies. Banerjee joins Rokkan after handling digital and social media efforts for companies such as Big Fuel Communications, M80, and SapientNitro.

Big Spaceship Announces Strategy Team Expansion. The Brooklyn-based creative agency has taken on new staff members. Overseeing the growing team will be Joshua Teixeira, who has been promoted to director of strategy. His team will include David Gillespie, who joins as senior strategist after serving as senior planner at Profero Sydney. Others include Karina Portuondo who will serve as joint senior strategist after working as a brand planner at Young & Rubicam, and strategist Nathan Adkisson, who joins from Grey Worldwide where he served as a brand planner. The strategy team will also be supported by several new junior strategists.

Former CBS vice president Samuel Parker has joined blogging and ad network Say Media as its Chief Operating Officer. Parker will contribute to the strategic direction of the company, and oversee the integration of its acquisitions as it continues to expand its owned and operated properties. He joins from a role as CBS Interactive’s senior vice president, operations.

Email marketing firm StrongMail has hired Christopher Marriott as VP of agency services. Joining the firm from Acxiom, Marriott will be responsible for managing StrongMail’s New York-based agency services division, and drive growth and development of its suite of email and social marketing products.

Cooliris and Amobee to Make Mobile Advertising “3D.” Cooliris’ new standalone 3D ad business unit, Adjitsu, along with Amobee, announced the launch of a new partnership in which Amobee will integrate Cooliris’ 3D technology into its mobile advertising campaigns, operable on any mobile device on any network.
