PowerAdz.com, a provider of Internet infrastructure services for newspapers, signed the New York Post and several other newspapers to its list of newspaper affiliates.
More than 900 newspapers in the PowerAdz.com network use its technology, which lets newspapers provide aggregated local classifieds, auctions, yellow pages, community and editorial content nationwide.
The New York Post will use PowerAdz’ AdQuest3D for its classifieds and will power its online car buying service with CarCast.
“PowerAdz offered solutions that we think readers of our online edition will use and enjoy,” said Ralph D’Onofrio, classified advertising director for the New York Post.
Other new affiliates include the Newspaper Agency Corp.’s Salt Lake Tribune (circulation 125,000) and Deseret News (Salt Lake City, UT) which will use PowerAdz’ CareerGold, ThinkHomes, AdQuestSUPER and CarCast products.
“We were using an in-house solution that did searches but not much more,” said Ed McCaffrey, director of advertising for the Newspaper Agency Corp.
PowerAdz brings yellow pages, directory services, ad categories and editorial content. We like the way they tied everything directly into the product.”
Financial terms of the arrangements were not disclosed.
Media General, a media company with 21 newspapers in Virginia, North Carolina and Florida, also recently signed with PowerAdz.com. The first two newspapers in the group to launch with PowerAdz’ products are the Richmond Times-Dispatch and the Winston-Salem Journal.
