New York City-based software developer Solbright Inc. is rolling out AdSuite, designed to automate advertising sales, trafficking and billing for Internet media companies.

The company said AdSuite provides Web-based management of advertising processes including the electronic exchange of proposals and contracts, ad submissions, trafficking and invoicing.

The available component of AdSuite, AdTraffic Manager 1.0, automates the ad submission process by matching insertion orders and providing error checking and approval, customer notification and adserver data entry.

In the works are two additional components, AdSales Manager which automates ad sales and contract management, and AdBilling Manager, which addresses billing and invoicing for online media companies.

Said Key Compton, founder and president of Solbright: “The growing number of advertisements processed by online media companies has created a severe bottleneck for ad sales, ad traffic and ad billing. We automated the manual processes to reduce the labor-intensive workflows that are prone to human error.”

Mark Peabody, a research analyst with The Aberdeen Group, said: “Advertisers are being forced to manage hundreds of creatives across thousands of sites. The current manual process of managing these accounts places a serious revenue and resource drain on sites and must be rectified. The logical answer to this problem is process and planning automation, and Solbright is playing a prominent role in the development of this space.”

AdTraffic Manager 1.0 integrates with leading adserver software, including NetGravity’s AdServer and Accipiter’s AdManager, and has open APIs which support custom adserver configurations.

AdTraffic Manager is built to work on Windows NT and UNIX platforms and accepts creative assets of all types and sizes, including HTML banners, JavaScript and others.

The AdTraffic Manager, AdSales Manager and AdBilling Manager comprise Solbright’s total AdSuite package for advertising automation. AdTraffic Manager 1.0 will be made available in the second quarter through direct sales and soon-to-be announced reseller arrangements.

Pricing will be based on a tiered structure designed to accommodate both large and small media companies, Solbright said. AdSales Manager and Ad Billing Manager, are expected to be commercially released during the third and fourth quarters.
