If you want that Whole Foods Market $20-for-$10 LivingSocial voucher, don’t wait until just before the offer expires tomorrow morning. According to the offer’s landing page at press time, the supermarket chain has already sold half of its capped allotment of 1 million vouchers. Traffic to the page has bogged down LivingSocial’s servers, at least based on several efforts to access the page by the ClickZ News team.
Whether or not Whole Foods sells all 1 million vouchers remains to be seen. But one thing is certain: It will not unseat LivingSocial investor Amazon as the all-time best seller on the daily deals platform. The e-commerce juggernaut sold 1.3 million vouchers for a $20-for-$10 offer in January.
Meanwhile, 5 percent of the revenue generated from today’s campaign will be donated to Whole Foods’ schools-based health/wellness initiative called Whole Kids Foundation.
